Europe's coolest city walking tour

Join a guided walking tour of this modern university city, birthplace of the famous Finnish education system. Learn about the world-renowned architect Alvar Aalto, and visit the venue of the annual World Rally Championship race. Nature Next to Urban Life Walking Tour
In the Jyväskylä Region, urban life and nature go hand in hand in a rare way. Our tour leads to the Tourujoki Nature Reserve in the heart of the city. As the sounds of the city fade, the soundscape shifts into the quiet of nature. This lush grove is a green oasis with a 700-metre nature trail that follows the riverbanks and partly runs along boardwalks. We will learn about the ongoing restoration of the Tourujoki rapids, where the river is being returned to a more natural state.
The modern Kangas residential area, built on a former factory site, combines contemporary architecture with historic buildings. Kangas is an ecologically designed and safe neighbourhood where nature is part of everyday life.
